During the busy holiday travel season, San Antonio International
Airport officials are recommending that patrons allow two hours for parking,
check-in and security clearance. The Aviation Department and the
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) reminds travelers to
follow these simple guidelines when using the airport during the
holidays.
Check with your airline for any last-minute changes in travel
itineraries. The airport website allows you to access the same
arrival/departure information that is seen at the airport.
Be prepared to present photo identification to airline personnel and
TSA screeners.
Remember 3-1-1 on air travel: 3 ounces or less-sized containers of
liquid or gel. 1-quart size, clear plastic, zip-top bag holding 3
ounces or less-sized containers; 1 bag per traveler placed in the
security bin.
Try and avoid layered clothing and/or clothing with metal objects as
they may delay passage through security checkpoint
Do not pack wrapped gifts and do not bring wrapped gifts to security
checkpoint as screeners may have to unwrap them
Put all undeveloped film and cameras with film in your carry-on
baggage. Checked baggage screening equipment will damage undeveloped
film.
Lighters are prohibited beyond the security checkpoint.
If you’re picking up passengers arriving at San Antonio International,
take advantage of the new cell phone waiting lot. Instead of
“orbiting” around the airport terminals to time the arrival of your
visitor, avoid airport construction and other traffic by parking free
in the cell phone waiting lot until you receive a call from the person
you are picking up.
