It's not too late to get your flu shotflu shots

It is not too late to get your flu immunization. According to the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District, flu activity doesn’t peak until February or later. Getting vaccinated is the best way to prevent the flu.

Flu vaccine is available this year for anyone six months or older. Shots are available at all Metro Health clinics by appointment. Call 207-8790 to find a clinic near you.

A special clinic will be held on Tuesday, December 19 at St. Mary Margaret’s Catholic Church, 1314 Fair Avenue, for citizens interested in receiving their flu shot at that time.

The cost of the flu shot is $25. Persons who present current Medicare Part B, Medicaid, CareLink, Humana, Community First and CHIP insurance cards will not be charged for their flu shot.

See www.sanantonio.gov/health/immunizations for more information on receiving your flu shot.
