City Council weighs bond recommendations City Council received presentations from each of the four Community Bond Committees recently on recommendations for proposed 2007-2012 bond projects. A complete report of those recommendations is available on the City’s website at www.sanantonio.gov/2007bond. City Council will continue to analyze the recommendations until February 15 when it will call for the May 12 bond election. Another Council worksession may be used before February 15 to continue discussion of the committees’ recommendations. The four City Council-appointed bond committees presented recommendations that were developed through 40 hours of public meeting time with more than 500 citizens attending 15 meetings. Community Bond Committees were created to obtain public input and analyze potential projects to be included in the program. Residents were invited to community meetings to participate in the discussion of proposed projects.
The City’s 2007-2012 Bond Program proposes $550 million in streets and
sidewalks improvements ($300 million), drainage improvements ($150
million), park improvements ($50 million) and other community
initiatives ($50 million). No property tax rate increase will be
needed to facilitate this bond program. Return to dot-gov homepage |
