San Antonio gains top honors for National Night Out

Once again the citizens of San Antonio and surrounding areas made National Night Out a huge success. San Antonio was brought to national attention and chosen number one in the nation for cities with a population of 300,000 or more. This is an effort that started in February and ended in September when the National winner is chosen. There were 778 registered parties and over 150,000 individuals who took part in the event.

The success of National Night Out 2006 would not have been possible without the tremendous effort of the citizens of San Antonio. The San Antonio Police Department also had the assistance of their own community officers, Airport Police, Park Police, San Antonio Fire Department, EMS, Parks and Recreation and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

The success of the entire NNO event would not have been possible without the citizens of San Antonio, Bexar County and the surrounding areas. Congratulations to the San Antonio area and good luck next year
