New members join City Council. Bond propositions pass

Run-off elections for two seats on the City Council will be held Tuesday, June 12. Council seats for District 5 and District 8 will be decided on that date.

The remaining nine Council seats were decided as part of the election on May 5. The new City Council will include:

Mayor: Phil Hardberger
District 1: Mary Alice Cisneros
District 2: Sheila McNeil (re-elected)
District 3: Roland Gutierrez (re-elected)
District 4: Philip Cortez
District 5: Run-off between Lourdes Galvan and David Medina
District 6: Delicia Herrera (re-elected)
District 7: Justin Rodriguez
District 8: Run-off between Diane Cibrian and Morris Stribling
District 9: Kevin Wolff (re-elected)
District 10: John Clamp

Voters approved all five propositions comprising the City’s $550 Million Bond Program. The program includes 151 projects designed to improve and enhance existing, as well as acquire or construct, new, local streets, bridges, sidewalks, drainage facilities, parks, athletics facilities, libraries and public health centers.
