Luminaria
Arts night in San Antonio
San Antonio residents are invited to attend the City's First Annual
Luminaria on Saturday, March 15. Luminaria, which means a small clever
light that conjures up creative ideas which inspires waves of
innovation, is an all day celebration that will highlight San
Antonio's premier artists and art organizations through visual,
performing, multi-media, theatre, dance, music and other artistic
forms.

For one day, artists will come together
for this unprecedented celebration. The event is free and will feature
over 40 non-profit organizations. Throughout the day, citizens can
visit various exhibitions across the city, including the downtown
celebration from 6 p.m. to midnight.
The downtown celebration will feature several stages, storefront
exhibitions along Alamo Plaza and Houston Street and unique
performances throughout the streetscape. There will also be something
special for the youth of San Antonio as the Magik Theatre, 420 S.
Alamo, holds a special showing.
This unique event was inspired by the success of the international art
celebrations in Paris and Madrid. The event will be a first for not
only the City but the state. No other city in Texas has ever attempted
to coordinate a continuous artistic, educational and innovative
programming for a city-wide arts celebration.
Come be a part of this monumental
celebration showcasing San Antonio's diverse artistic community. For

Luminaria is presented by Bank of America in partnership with the City
of San Antonio, AT&T and the Ford Motor Company.
