Register for National Night Out 2009

The San Antonio Police Department invite residents and neighborhood associations interested in participating in National Night Out (NNO) 2009 to register for the event now, by signing up online at www.sanantonio.gov/sapd.

NNO will take place this year on Tuesday, October 6. Texas will once again hold NNO celebrations in October instead of the official August date due to heat and mosquito problems the state experiences during that month.

During NNO, neighborhoods join together at block parties or specialized social events to heighten drug and crime prevention awareness; generate support for and participate in local anticrime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community; and send a strong message to criminals letting them know that their neighborhood along with millions of others are fighting back.

To ensure your NNO event is recognized as part of San Antonio's official celebration, you must register your organization by Monday, October 5.
