Rock-n-Roll Marathon

The San Antonio inaugural Rock-n-Roll Marathon and 1/2 Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 16. Runners will experience a scenic route filled with some of San Antonio's historic landmarks. The event will also feature live music and spirited cheer teams every mile along with a post-race headliner concert for all participants.

Although the race is sold out, that does not mean that you can not be a part of the excitement. With over 30,000 participants, volunteers are still needed. Join the fun and cheer on the runners/walkers by volunteering to help set up, work at pre-registration, be a part of the Health & Fitness Expo or even work at one of the water stations along the course. To get involved or to get more information on volunteering, visit www.rnrsa.com/volunteer.html.

If you are not able to attend the race but still want to experience the great music, the British rock group The Cult will headline the inaugural Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio Marathon post-race concert at the Alamodome, 100 Montana. Individuals can purchase tickets for $25 online at www.rnrsa.com or at the Health & Fitness Expo on November 14 and 15 for $30, as well as at the Alamodome box office. All participants and volunteers will receive free entry into the event.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with an awards ceremony at 7:00 p.m. The music begins with an opening performance by Austin- based Vallejo at 7:45 p.m. The Cult is scheduled to take the stage at 8:30 p.m.
