Fall Art Festivals
The Fall Art Festivals will come to an end
this month wrapping up a three-month celebration of the arts in San
Antonio. The festivals, which included activities highlighting
photography, jazz, as well as cultural traditions,
will end with fanfare and tasty treats.
Día De Los Muertos:
November 1-15
Enjoy the colorful flurry of traditional and contemporary
festivities that celebrate ancestral remembrance and harvest season
rituals from Central Mexico’s indigenous cultures. Observed on
November 2 and during most of the month; exhibits and events that
include altars, ofrendas, calaveras, flores, pan de muerto,
chocolate, visual arts, poetry and music are presented throughout
the city.
New World Wine & Food Festival: November 10-15
Join the fun for five full days at this food and wine
extravaganza. Dive into your choice of events from a hip happy hour
to a black-tie or family-friendly casual event that promises fun for
all.
Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza: November 15-21
This music festival attracts thousands of fans to the Alamo
City for what is the largest and longest running Latin music event
of its kind in Texas. Included is a mariachi-inspired art exhibit,
student
mariachi serenades along the River Walk, workshops, mariachi group
and vocal competitions and a concert featuring the world renowned
Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan.
