On your mark...get set...go to the 2nd Annual Rock-n-Roll Marathon

The San Antonio Rock-n-Roll Marathon and 1/2 Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 15. The event, which is in its second year, will allow runners and walkers to experience a scenic route filled with some of San Antonio's historic landmarks and local musicians. Last year over 30,000 participants, took to the streets of San Antonio.

For those individuals that are not runners and walkers but still want to be a part of the excitement, volunteers are still needed. Join the fun and cheer on the runners/walkers by volunteering to help set up, work at pre-registration, be a part of the Health & Fitness Expo or even work at one of the water stations along the course. To get involved or to get more information on volunteering, visit

If you are not able to attend the race but still want to experience the great music, this year's post-race lineup includes Multi-platinum Texas trio Los Lonely Boys and Grand Funk Railroad. The concert will once again take place at the Alamodome, 100 Montana. Individuals can purchase tickets in advance online for $21 at http://san-antonio.competitor.com/entertainment/concert/ or at the door for $30. All participants will receive free entry into the event with their race number and children two and under are free. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
