National Night Out

national night out logoThe City of San Antonio along with the state of Texas will celebrate National Night Out (NNO) from 6:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6.

The official date across the country was celebrated in August but for the second year in a row Texas will celebrate the community event during October due to heat. This year is the 26th Anniversary of the drug and crime prevention event.

During NNO, neighborhoods join together at block parties or specialized social events to heighten drug and crime prevention awareness; generate support for and participate in local anticrime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community; and send a strong message to criminals letting them know that their neighborhood along with millions of others are fighting back.

The day's activities will officially kick-off with a lighting ceremony at 10 a.m. on the City Hall front steps.
The entire San Antonio community is invited to turn on your porch light and join in the fight against crime.
