New service hours for 3-1-1, libraries and Spanish Governor's Palace

Starting in October three City entities will have new service hours. The Spanish Governor's Palace, 3-1-1 and the San Antonio library system have new schedules.

The Spanish Governors Palaces new hours of operation will be Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Adult admission is $2; military and seniors age 60 and over admission is $1.50; and children age 7-13 is $1.

The Spanish Governors Palace is maintained by the City of San Antonio Downtown Operations Department. For more information about hours of operations or for general questions, contact (210) 224-0601.

Also beginning, October 1, the City's 3-1-1 Call Center will change its service hours from 24 hours a day/7 days a week to the new hours of 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday including holidays.

All San Antonio Public Library branches with the exception of the Bannwolf Library at Reagan High School and the new Pruitt Library at Roosevelt High School will adopt a seven-days-per-week service schedule beginning October 1. For a complete list of library hours, visit www.mysapl.org.

The library system has also started a new initiative. Beginning this month, Unique Management Services, a firm specializing in recovery services for libraries, will assume responsibility for library card accounts that have more than $25 in fines and fees and are more than 60 days in arrears. Library officials emphasize that the goal of their contract with Unique Management Services is to achieve a higher rate of return of materials checked out from the Library, and that every effort will be made to assist Library cardholders to reduce their overdue accounts. Library patrons will receive advance notice of the implementation of the collection contract to give them an opportunity to reduce their balances owed.

Library cardholders with accounts in arrears will receive their first notices from Unique Management Services in early December.
