San Antonio receives first ever 'AAA' bond
rating
The City of San Antonio has received its first ever 'AAA' bond rating
- the highest level possible. The new rating marks the first time
San Antonio has achieved such a rating. Previously the City had
received a rating of 'AA+'.
San Antonio's National Night Out tops in
nation
The City of San Antonio was awarded second place in the nation under
Category 1 for this year's National Night Out (NNO) event. The state
of Texas was awarded first place in the nation under the state
category.
First annual
Arts in Our Parks
The Office of Cultural Affairs in conjunction with the City's Park's
and Recreation Department present the first annual Arts in Our
Park. The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on
Saturday, December 6 at Woodlawn Lake Park, 1103 Cincinnati.
City to host a series of Household Hazardous
Waste events
The City will be hosting a series of mobile Household Hazardous Waste
(HHW) collection events beginning this December in order to help
residents alleviate hazardous materials that may be lying around
their homes.

VITA Looking for
Volunteers

Help thousands
of San Antonio families by preparing tax returns. No
experience is necessary and you’ll receive FREE training.
Last year, VITA volunteers prepared more than 43,000 tax
returns and helped return $61 million to tax payers. The
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance initiative is program of

Don't Play With Fireworks |
|
Everyone enjoys a spectacular fireworks display, but fireworks can be
hazardous and they are illegal within the city limits. Anyone caught
bringing fireworks across the city line will be cited for a
Class C misdemeanor and face a fine ranging from $250 to $2000. |

The San Antonio Botanical Garden is full of holiday cheer and they are

Five tracks of large outdoor garden G-scale model trains will be set

It's time
to bowl
San Antonio is getting ready to bowl. Excitement is building as
preparations are underway for the 16th Annual Valero Alamo Bowl.
The Alamo Bowl, which features teams from the Big 12 and Big Ten
conferences, is scheduled to take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday,
December 29.

Wonderland
It will be San
Antonio's own winter wonderland as Hemisfair Park & La Villita
turn into a Winter Holiday Spectacular from noon to 6:00 p.m. on
Saturday, December 20. The winter festival will feature live
entertainment, Christmas caroling, and a playground of snow. |

It's the biggest party of
the year! San Antonio’s New Year’s Eve spectacular, Celebrate San
Antonio. This event offers something for all San Antonians
including five musical stages and special entertainment areas for
children and families.
