NCAA Final Four arrives in San Antonio

San Antonio is proud to be hosting it’s third Men’s Final Four® in a decade and looks forward to giving all participants a most memorable championship experience! Though tickets have long been sold out for the 2008 NCAA® Men’s Final Four ® games, numerous activities are available for volunteers, visitors, and fans to take part in NCAA® history.

No ticket? No problem!  Tons of activities, free of charge, await fans of all ages. Follow the bouncing ball to Hoop City
®, participate in the ultimate hoop experience with the Dome Dribble, join other fans rockin’ in the streets at The Big Dance®, enjoy a spectacular fireworks display, where music and basketball collide, at the AT&T Block Party, come see the country’s best college basketball players at The DiGiorno® College All-Star Game, and don’t miss the one-of-a-kind, floating pep rally on the beautiful San Antonio Riverwalk.

The 2008 NCAA® Final Four® festivities begin Friday, April 4 and continues through Monday, April 7 2008. Hoop City Tickets On-Sale Now

Tickets for the 2008 Hoop City® refreshed by Coca-Cola® are now on sale online.  Hoop City is the ultimate NCAA Basketball® fan fest. Fans can participate in competitions, clinics, autograph sessions with NCAA® coaches and great players of the past, surprise appearances, battle of the bands, and much more. There's literally something for everyone in the family.

Ticket Prices:
Free: Children ages 2 and under

$6: For children ages 3-11, college students, military, and seniors (55 and older) 
$8:ages 12 and up

Receive a $2 discount on group and advance purchased tickets. There is also a family package offer that includes admission for 2 adults and 2 children, ages 12 and under, for $18. Log on to Ticketmaster to purchase your tickets or visit www.NCAA.com/hoopcity for more event information.

Hoop City Cheer Clinic
Hoop City is excited to host a cheer clinic on Saturday, April 5 for youth ages 7 to 14. Cheerleaders of all levels will learn choreographed material from trained Universal Cheerleaders Association staff and perform on Hoop City’s center court!

The clinic is open to the first 100 participants per session and each will receive a free give away item. Registration is available only inside Hoop City and begins thirty minutes prior to clinic start times. 
          

Time:
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (ages 7-10)
2:30 p.m. to 4:30p.m.(ages 11-14)

THE BIG DANCE®
The musical lineup is set for The Big Dance – a free, four-day entertainment extravaganza on South Alamo Street between Market and Durango - that runs from Friday, April 4 through Monday, April 7 in celebration of the NCAA Men’s Final Four.

Friday, April 4:
The weekend festivities begin on with the AT&T Block Party, featuring pop, punk, and rock hits from Fall Out Boy, hip-hop/soul/funk band The Roots, and power-pop band Ludo. The night ends with a spectacular fireworks display.

Saturday, April 5:

Pontiac Garage at the Final Four® will energize both fans of music and basketball with performances by a number of popular artists. Pontiac Garage at the Final Four will also be home to The World’s Largest Pep Rally featuring cheerleads, mascots, and bands from each of the four participating teams as they rally their respective fans just hours before tip-off of that night’s first semifinal contest at the nearby Alamodome.

Sunday, April 6:
My Coke Fest™ takes center stage with American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest as special guest hostThe day of celebrity-filled concerts headlines with Three Doors Down and features alternative rockers All American Rejects, country superstar Taylor Swift, the Latin music sensation band Kumbia All-Starz, and San Antonio’s own Sexto Sol and Ruben V.

Monday, April 7:
The festivities continue with entertainment from alternative country music star Robert Earl Keen, the eclectic Bob Schneider, and the lively soul sounds of Mingo Fishtrap at NCAA Championship Monday at The Big Dance.

Come Bounce With Us
Don't forget about the Dome Dribble to Hoop City for youth ages 18 and under on Sunday, April 6 at 2:00 p.m.on the north plaza of the Alamodome.  The first 3,000 participants to register will receive a FREE
t-shirt and FREE basketball as well as FREE entrance into Hoop City refreshed by Coca-Cola on that Sunday.  Nearly 1,000 participants have already registered, so don't miss out on reserving your free basketball, t-shirt and Hoop City entry!
