City's automated garbage program hits the streets The City's shiny, new automated garbage and recycling collection trucks are already rolling through several San Antonio neighborhoods. City offers residents a garage sale bargain If you have reached your garage sale limit allowed by City Code, you may be eligible to hold a fourth sale at no charge. In October, City Council amended the City Code to allow residents to obtain a free garage sale permit if they have purchased three during the calendar year.
Try out the City's newest golf
course. But leave your clubs at home
If you've had a problem with your golf swing lately but still enjoy a
little links-style competition, try out the City's new nine-hole disc
golf course. The course opened in October at Nani Falcone Community
Park, 7625 Mystic Park. |

City launches study to assess downtown parking How many parking spaces actually exist downtown, who’s using them and is supply meeting demand? These are some of the questions the City seeks to answer as it launches a downtown parking management study with the goal of stimulating economic growth in the area. |
New department to
oversee downtown maintenance, venues
The City recently created the
Downtown Operations Department in an effort to consolidate major
downtown service delivery areas including the maintenance and
operations of downtown parks and venues. |

Senior road show to
present information on safety issues, offer flu shots
The City/County Joint Commission on Elderly Affairs, San Antonio
Metropolitan Health District, and Davis-Scott YMCA will present the
third Senior Safety Road Show public information event of 2006 for
area seniors on Wednesday, November 8, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the
Davis-Scott YMCA Center, 1213 Iowa St. |
Order the City's official Christmas cards now Get a head start on your holiday greetings by ordering the City of San Antonio’s official Christmas Card. Each year, the City invites elementary, middle and high school students to participate in the Parks and Recreation Department’s 2006 “Christmas in San Antonio” Student Art Contest. |
