Green Building Awards

Nominations now being accepted for the City of San Antonio Green Building Awards

In an effort to recognize the achievements made by local builders in constructing energy and water efficient buildings, the City of San Antonio is proud to announce its fourth annual Green Building Awards.

The awards will celebrate builders who have made significant strides in improving the performance of their buildings, as well as, specific construction projects. Awards will be offered in several categories within the divisions of commercial and residential construction.

In addition, coinciding with the Department of Energy’s designation of San Antonio as a “Solar America City” a special award will be given to a nominee who has made significant contributions in solar energy.

The deadline for nominations is extended to Friday, May 25th. Nomination forms are below:

  • Bill Sinkin Solar Technology Award: This category is open to all Solar Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal projects in or near the City of San Antonio, in the CPS Energy service area.

  • Practitioner / Champion Award: This category is open to all green building practitioners, politicians, corporate leaders, organizations, and individuals that participated in a green initiative and/or the construction of green project/projects in or near the city of San Antonio, in the CPS Energy service area, during the 2011 year.

  • Green Building Award: This category is open to all projects with outstanding sustainable features that were built or substantially completed in or near the City of San Antonio, within the CPS Energy service area, during the 2011 year. Winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, 200 E. Market Street.
