On the Path to Bicycle Safety
New section of the greenway trail system is open for use.
Opening of the Leon Creek Greenway segment is another step
toward San Antonio's 'Emerald Necklace'. This section joins
two segements and allows 13 unbroken miles of trails with 9
trailheads to access it.

Downtown Association Merit Award!
During its upcoming annual conference, the International
Downtown Association will recognize the City of San Antonio
Office of Environmental Policy with a Downtown Merit Award
for its work and initiatives related to San Antonio Bike
Share System.

City says new bike-sharing program a big success!
San Antonio's bike-share program is the only one of its kind
in Texas. So far the city says its a big hit. The city
released the program's first quarter numbers Wednesday, and
it looks like people are losing weight and saving money.

City's bicycle share program will be a Texas first.
San Antonio's new B-Cycle bike share system rolling out
early 2011 will be the first of its kind in Texas. Similar
programs in other states have exceeded expectations.

received a Bronze rating from the
League of American Bicyclists for numerous efforts to

Downtown has been identified as a critical focal point for the mission to increase the level of daily use of bicycle ridership and to improve cycling safety."
