Summer Youth Program
registration is now in full swing.
Now is the time to plan for summer fun. The Parks and
Recreation Department is gearing up for a terrific eight-week Summer Youth
Program filled with games, sports, arts and crafts and enrichment
activities. Registration at 23 year-round community centers began March 24 will continue until all slots are full. Registration for more than 40 school sites began on May 5 and continues through the start of the program or until sites are full. Lunch and a snack are included in the program. Spring has sprung. Now's the time to get fit for summer fun. The Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Mayor's Fitness Council and the YMCA, is offering free fitness classes in several parks across the city. Power walking. Tai chi. Pilates. Zumba. Boot camps. Yoga. Cardio. There's lots to choose from so get active and get fit. Supplement the class by working out at fitness stations in one of 30 parks as well!
