Summer Jobs: Hiring starts now!
The Parks and Recreation Department is now hiring for the summer season.
This
includes lifeguards for the pool season. Lifeguards must be at least 16 years old and strong swimmers. Applicants will be required to pass a swim skills test. CPR and water safety training will be provided for those who are hired. The starting pay is $9.02.

The San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department fills more than 400 temporary, summer jobs each year.
Positions include recreation coordinators, assistants and specialists, community center supervisors, art and science instructors and office assistants for the summer recreation programs that include Summer SA and the Teen Connection. Applicants must be 18 and have a high school diploma or GED. Pay starts at $8.75, but may be as much as $13.82 for employees with additional experience and expertise.

Full-time Maintenance Jobs Now Available
The Parks and Recreation Department is now hiring full-time maintenance worker positions. The starting salary is $10.29 to $14.23 hourly. The reporting location is 5800 Old Highway 90 West. Maintenance works perform duties such as cleaning, repairing and replacing equipment at City parks and facilities, as well as preparing City facilities for various City events. They may operate equipment such as tractor mowers, dump trucks or other small equipment. May perform duties such as maintaining shrubs and flowers, clearing weeds and brush, mowing and trimming public areas as well as performing custodial duties in public areas.
