Planning and Development Services Department

The Planning & Development Services Department /Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Section exists to aid in the planning and development of the City by furnishing consistently reliable analysis and exhibits in a prompt manner to assist with the decision making process.

The GIS Section provides a variety of services that support the daily business of the City of San Antonio and the customers that it serves. Our primary roles include managing GIS technology, maintaining current base layers (i.e.; City Boundary, ETJ, Council Districts, addressing, zoning, and parcels) along with providing technical assistance, consulting, guidance, and training.

• Map Catalog, our map catalog contains over 40 maps representing the City of San Antonio and each individual Council District in a pdf format so that our customers have the ability to download and print.
  
• Demographic Information, our demographic section contains a comprehensive statistical report which contains demographic information for the City of San Antonio and each individual Council District
  
• On-Line Mapping Applications, this is an interactive City mapping site where our customers have the ability to add and remove data layers, download data, locate an address or zoom into an area and print.
