Lead-Based Paint Regulations

Lead Based Paint Rules

I. Texas Environmental Lead Reduction Rules:
Applies to lead-based paint abatement in target housing (pre-1978) and child-occupied facilities (day care, elementary schools, etc.)

II. Occupational Safety and Health Administration: OSHA - 29 CFR 1926.62
Applies to all construction work where an employee may be occupationally exposed to lead.

III. Housing and Urban Development : HUD-24 CRF Part 35, et al
Requirements for notification, evaluation, and reduction of lead-based paint hazards in federally owned residential property and housing receiving federal assistance.

IV. Environmental Protection Agency-EPA: Title X– Section 1018
Applies to disclosure of information concerning lead upon transfer (buying, selling, renting, or leasing) of residential property.
