Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (SACLPPP)
If your child has an elevated blood lead level, your doctor or clinic will notify the SACLPPP.
What We Do:
Send Information or contact you regarding lead poisoning and possible sources of lead poisoning in the child’s environment.
If deemed necessary, with your permission, schedule an appointment for a home environmental lead assessment where we will conduct an inspection of your home and surroundings to determine possible sources of lead poisoning. Assessments may include using an analyzer on the walls, windows, door frames, and any other painted surfaces, collect samples of dust, soil or water.
Through you and or your child’s Doctor we monitor your child’s blood lead level until it reaches a safe level. For information on Lead Poisoning Contact the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program at (210) 207-8853 or Espanol at (210) 207-6042.
