The Neighborhood Planning and Urban Design Business Unit administers the Comprehensive Planning Program. The unit provides technical assistance to neighborhoods and communities to develop and adopt Neighborhood and Community Plans, Sector Plans, Community Development Plans, and Goals and Strategies Reports. Once plans are adopted, this unit is responsible for conducting five year plan reviews and processing plan amendment applications. Additionally, this unit administers the Urban Design Program and the Neighborhood Commercial Revitalization Program. The Neighborhood Commercial Revitalization Program works with grass roots organizations to promote the revitalization of neighborhood commercial districts.

The Planning Library includes copies of all plans, reports, and policies authored by or for the Planning and Community Development Department as well as urban design standards manuals

Forms

The Urban Design Program includes standards for each of the adopted Neighborhood Conservation Districts and Corridor Overlay Districts as well as other special zoning districts.
