The Operation Facelift Program is a HUD funded initiative that promotes the revitalization of central-city neighborhood commercial districts. Over the past several months the City has been developing updated, more effective target areas that will increase opportunities for participation, shift funding to streetscape enhancement projects, and streamline service delivery for the façade improvement and business assistance components of the program.
Matching amounts vary based on target area and funding availability.

Pilot Program: Sign Reimbursement Program
The City of San Antonio’s Operation Facelift Program provides matching grants to eligible property and/or business owners for the purpose of improving the quality and design of signage on commercial storefronts within the designated program area.
The Program is set up as a matching grant up to $1,000, reimbursed upon completion of project. This means for every dollar the applicant provides for the sign, the City will match that dollar. Thus, if a sign costs $2,000, the applicant will pay the $2,000 to the Sign contractor and the City will reimburse the applicant $1,000.
