Updated Public Access Producer information

On January 17, 2006 the City held a stakeholders forum for Public Access Producers at the San Antonio Development and Business Services Center. For those of you that attended, thank you for your time and input. In addition to verbal testimony, we have received surveys, e-mails and other documentation that outline your needs and concerns. The information both written and oral is important and valuable as the City considers future recommendations and long-term goals for Public Access. Many comments and suggestions centralize around the need for a studio, partnership with other educational institutions, the establishment of a non-profit, editing needs, reinstating public access on channel 20, training, programming time, and staffing. We will continue to assess comments and suggestions as they are received.

In addition to our long-term planning, the City is working to resolve immediate PEG needs. On Thursday, February 2, City staff plans to present its recommendations for equipment necessary for the Public Access and the Government Access channels. City Council Chambers are located at 103 Main Plaza.

As information becomes available, we will continue to update you via mail. Correspondence will also be posted on the City’s website at www.sanantonio.gov. Once again, thank you for your time and consideration on the matter. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact the Communications Office by e-mail at communicationsoffice@sanantonio.gov or by phone at 210-207-7235.
