The Traffic Management Division is
responsible for the operation of the
City of San Antonio's traffic and
pedestrian signal system.
We're responsible for over 1100
street intersections and signalized
pedestrian crossings within the city
limits. Futhermore, we oversee two
reversible lane systems that are capable
of 23 changeable assignments based on
volume and activity in those areas.
This system reduces congestion and wait
times.
Along with managing and operating
these systems, the Traffic Management
Division provides programs and services
to the community including a
comprehensive
City-wide Traffic Signal
System Modernization Program (TSSM).
This program will upgrade and modernize
our existing system to enable all
signalized intersections to be
coordinated to provide for maximum
benefits.
The Traffic Management Division is
located at the TransGuide facility of
the Texas Department of Transportation
to allow for the best possible
coordination and communication between
our transportation partners.
