Capital Improvement Program

The Fiscal Management & Research Division of the Administration Section manages the department’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The CIP is primarily focused on the construction of new or the replacement of existing fire stations. Design of New Stations The square footage of new fire stations will range from 10,000 to 16,000 square feet, depending on the number of Fire and EMS bays, and dorms required for the coverage area. Most of the stations will be one story, with a few being two story depending on land availability and acquisition. Each facility will be designed to blend and compliment with its surroundings, while addressing the complex functional and technical issues associated with fire station requirements.
