News Release Date: September 26, 2007 Contact: Jody Garcia/207-3078 Instructors with varied talents invited to join Parks and Recreation team
Do you have a talent you would like to share with your community? The Parks and Recreation Department is looking for people with various skills to teach classes at the department’s 27 community centers.
We are looking for anyone with any type of skill they might want to share with the community and we will work with them to determine the cost for each class and how much they will be compensated for teaching,” said Recreation Superintendent Brenda Burton. “Our plan is to add a lot of exciting activities at all of our community centers so we are hoping people will come forward to share their knowledge with others.”
Examples of skills the department is looking for include aerobics, yoga, kickboxing, dancercise, cheerleading, martial arts and health and wellness education, to name a few. The department is also looking for instructors to teach arts and crafts type activities such as scrap booking, quilting, calligraphy or jewelry making.
