Assignments

The most significant allotment of the Park Police Division’s personnel is assigned to the Outer District Patrol Section, with officers patrolling more than 200 parks and Parks & Recreation Department facilities within the City of San Antonio, divided into eight distinct Patrol Service Areas. From the smallest Neighborhood park to our Large Urban parks and Natural Area parks, Park Police Outer District Patrol Section officers protect and serve the users of and visitors to our city parks.

Park Police also patrol other Parks & Recreation properties such as Golf Courses, Driving Ranges, Swimming Pools, Community Centers and Sports & Recreational Facilities. In addition to providing proactive patrol of all facilities and properties in the park inventory, the Park Police also answer thousands of calls for service in the parks on an annual basis.
