The River Patrol (or foot patrol, as it is sometimes called) section of the Park Police Division patrols all 33 blocks of the world famous San Antonio River Walk, 5.2 miles of walkways. Officers on foot and in boats patrol the River Walk and the downtown parks 24 hours a day. River Patrol Park Police Officers provide visitors a safe and enjoyable atmosphere where they can relax and enjoy themselves. River Patrol Officers not only provide a law enforcement presence on the River Walk for the safety and protection of all, they also provide information, directions, and assistance to the nearly seven million annual visitors to the River Walk and the downtown area.
