Rental of City and County park facilities
San Antonio city and county parks are great places for family reunions, company picnics, birthday parties and all sorts of social events. With the exception of community centers, most park facilities can be rented up to one year in advance of your event. To help you find the park facility that is just right for you, here is a catalogue of the facilities featuring photos of the key amenities at these parks. For more information about availability, call one of the five City of San Antonio Community Link Service Center in your area: Fees listed on the individual pages are subject to change. Please be sure to check with the Community Link Centers for the latest and most accurate fee information. For information about San Antonio River Authority (SARA) parks, please go to the following links on the SARA web site. (These parks cannot be reserved by calling 207-7275.) Please note that Mitchell Lake, which is owned by the San Antonio Water System (SAWS), cannot be reserved through the 207-7275 number or the Community Link Centers.
City of San Antonio Park Hours Please note that City parks are open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. unless exempted under the park curfew ordinance passed by City Council in June 2000. The curfew does not apply to the River Walk, Alamo Plaza, La Villita, Market Square, HemisFair Park and Woodlawn Lake Park. Exceptions may be made for special events through the permit process. Call 207-7275 or one of the community link centers for more information on special events and curfew exceptions.
Security Deposits
In addition to the permit fee, community center rentals, mass picnic facility rentals and park rentals for special events are subject to a security deposit. For community centers, that deposit is $50 for a non special event rental and $100 for a special event. The deposit varies for the other two categories, based on number of people expected to attend. The deposit will be refunded if the site is left clean, in good order, and with no damage or theft of city property. The person renting the facility can pick up the refund after three days at the Community Link Service Centers. Alcohol Restrictions City Council voted on April 24, 2002, to restrict the use of alcohol in City parks, except by permit or in those parks exempted under the ordinance. The restrictions go into effect June 1, 2002. Parks that are exempted include: District 1
