San Juan - Brady Park
2307 S. Calaveras St.

San Juan-Brady Park is a 4.7 acre facility located at 2307 South Calaveras Street adjacent to Storm Elementary School. The park occupies part of a 6 acre tract conveyed to the San Antonio Independent School District by Willie and Emilie Reichert in 1948.

The park’s name is derived from its proximity to San Juan Homes and Brady Boulevard. The City owns 1.671 acres of the park and leases the remainder of the property from the School District and San Antonio Housing Authority. The City-owned acre tract was acquired from the District in 1977 with the understanding that a public recreation center be constructed on the site.

In 1986, .13 acres of this tract was deeded back to the School District for use as a parking lot. As part of the 1977 transaction, the City and School District agreed that an additional 2.141 acres of District property would be used as a playground for a period of 75 years. This agreement expires in the year 2051. The City and School District jointly use this property.

A third parcel including 1.022 acres is leased by the City from the San Antonio Housing Authority until the year 2077.

The park includes a playground, multi-purpose playing fields, basketball and tennis courts.
