Community presentation set on self-monitoring standards
for summer recreation, after school programs

San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department staff will present an overview of self-monitoring standards for the 2009 summer youth recreation program and the 2009-2010 after school program during a Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 26, at Lion’s Field Adult and Senior Citizens Center, 2809 Broadway.

Self-monitoring is used in lieu of state licensing for municipal programs and is authorized by State Regulations of Child Care Facilities. Guidelines cover record keeping, staff qualifications, responsibilities and training, safety procedures and emergency procedures.

After receiving comment from the public and the board, the Parks and Recreation Department will present the standards to City Council for formal adoption.
