Parent /Guardian must be present to register and bring with them an original birth certificate for each child, along with the program fee in cash, money order or check.

Registration began March 1 and will be continuous during hours of operation until 75 to 125 spaces are filled at each center. Hours are 2 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 2 to 7 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Spaces are determined by the size of the facility. Names will be placed on waiting lists once capacity has been reached. Summer Nutrition Program 207-3000 Summer Food Program sites www.summerfood.org The Parks and Recreation Department sponsors a Summer Nutrition Program funded by a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant at more than 75 sites each summer. Food is served at Kid Quest sites, Play Zone and other agencies throughout the summer program. High quality meals similar to those served during the school year by the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs are offered free for youngsters ages 18 and under at the pre-approved sites. Meals are usually served around 11:30 a.m. and snacks at 3 p.m. Children do not have to be registered at the site in order to participate in the Food Program. Call for the site in your neighborhood.
Teen Connection Summer Program Teens ages 13 to 18 can stay physically active and involved at one of the Teen Connection program sites located at middle and high schools around the City. This program offers a safe, supervised free open gym program. The recreation-themed curriculum includes active games and sports. Monday through Friday during the summer program. Confirmed sites for 2008 include Truman Middle School and Wren High School in Edgewood ISD; Edison High School in SAISD; and Ed White Middle School in NEISD.
