Tennis McFarlin offers 22 lighted hard courts with a pro shop, lockers and showers and a variety of tennis-related services. Courts can be reserved for corporate tennis events. Year-round programs include tennis lessons, camps, clinics, tournaments and leagues. Both Men's and Women's Spring Leagues will be starting soon. Registration is on-going until January 28, so sign up soon. For more information, call the center at 732-1223. Lessons can be arranged by calling for an appointment. For semi-private lessons, the rate is $20 an hour. For private lessons, the rate is $40 an hour. Tennis leagues for youth, men and women, are $50 a person and are available Mondays through Thursdays.
Rental of court fees before 5 p.m. is $2.50 per person per hour for adults; $1 per hour for juniors and seniors; and $1 per hour for corporate events per person. After 5 p.m., the rate is $3.50 per hour for adults and $1.50 per hour for juniors and seniors. The corporate rate remains the same.
The Parks and Recreation Department has in its inventory more than 140 public tennis courts at parks across the city, in addition to McFarlin Tennis Center at San Pedro Park.
Here is a listing of parks that have courts available for public use. Except for McFarlin Tennis Center, the courts are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. For questions about reservations at McFarlin, call the center at 732-1223. Park curfew is 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. However, some courts are not lighted:
