Walker Historic Landmark Park, located near where Nakoma meets West Ave., features a beautiful pavilion constructed with trusses fabricated around the turn of the century in Birmingham, Alabama, and later used in several buildings in San Antonio before being donated by M&M Construction. The pavilion contains eight picnic tables and is adjacent to the playscape. The rental fee is $40 for the first four hours Monday through Thursday and $25 an hour for every hour after that; and $80 for the first four hours for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and holidays and $25 an hour after that.
The park also has a playscape, 0.5 miles of paved trail and about 1 mile of unpaved trail for walking and jogging in a natural setting. Rest rooms and off-street parking are also available.
