APPLICANT PROCESSING |

The Applicant Processing Detail, which also includes
the Polygraph Office,
has the responsibility of processing and evaluating all
applications for the position of Police Cadet.
|
APPLICATION PROCESS:
|
The application process begins with applying to take and
successfully passing the
Civil Service Exam (given once or twice a year). Prospective
applicants are then given a series of examinations,
including a physical exam, psychological exam,
polygraph exam, and a thorough
background check. Application materials, Civil Service
Exam Schedules and other related information is available
from the Recruiting Detail,
through its RECRUITING web page, or at its office at 215 S.
San Saba in San Antonio.
Those who successfully complete all of the checks,
screenings and exams, are then given put on an
eligibility list to be invited to attend
one of the scheduled Cadet Training Classes at the
SAPD Training Academy.
