Services : Victim Assistance : Notify all victims of juvenile crime (upon receipt of police report) of their rights under Chapter 57 of the Juvenile Justice Code. Provide assistance in completing Victim Impact Statement, which is presented in Juvenile Court and placed in Respondent's file. Upon request, will accompany victim to Court, and serve as advocate throughout Court proceedings. Also, assist in filling out application from the Attorney General's Office for Crime Victim Fund and will notarize and mail application to Austin for victims. Provide referrals for counseling or support groups.
Also : Victim Impact Panels held on a monthly basis for juvenile offenders (10-16 yrs) and their parents; and Victim Sensitivity Classes for first-time offenders; Job Preparation Classes and Referrals for juvenile probationers who owe monetary restitution to victims as ordered by Juvenile Court.
