  • The Nissan Leaf is an all electric vehicle. It has no gasoline tank.
  • It is a fun, peppy and comfortable automobile
  • It is environmentally very friendly – it doesn’t even have a tailpipe!
  • Right now, there is only one Leaf in the San Antonio Hertz On Demand fleet located at the Annex Lot 506 Dolorosa.
  • The range is advertised at 100 miles with the EPA giving it an estimated 73-mile range.
  • The average HOD rental is for about 45 miles, so the Leaf can be used in most cases
  • The Leaf will give you plenty of warning when the battery charge is getting low
  • The car should be plugged into the charger
  • Note that the electric charging system is designed to be very safe, so don’t be afraid to plug or unplug the vehicle
  • Unplug the car and coil the cable on charger rack
  • Cover the charger port on the car with the attached orange cover
  • Close the door to the car charging door until it locks
  • No key is needed to start the car, but you must step on and hold down the brake pedal and then push start button
  • Watch your speed! The car is very quiet and accelerates quickly, so keep an eye on the speedometer
  • A readout will show the range left in the car battery

  • It is possible to get an emergency charge. Consult the Owner’s Manual in the glove compartment
  • Return to same “pod” before end of booking
  • Open the flap in front with button on lowest level of buttons to the left of the steering wheel – lift orange cover to charging port on the right
  • Plug the charger into the front of the car.
  • Use key fob or card to lock car at windshield reader
