Career

Joseph Krupa holds the position of Solid Waste Manager with the Department. In this position, Mr. Krupa oversees landfill maintenance, environmental compliance, brush recycling, bulky waste drop-off, and household hazardous waste operations. Furthermore, he serves as Project Manager for all of the Department’s capital projects. Mr. Krupa joined the City in 1993 and has held various positions in the solid waste industry to include Environmental Protection Officer, Landfill Superintendent, and Solid Waste District Manager.

Class B Municipal Solid Waste Operator License; Class A & B Underground Storage Tank On-site Supervisor License; Landfill Engineering & Gas Collection Design; Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Training; Hazardous Waste Identification; National Incident Management System; National Weapons of Mass Destruction Awareness

Professional Accomplishments

During his 20 year career, Joseph has successfully enhanced or developed programs in landfill gas collection, leachate management, asbestos, subsurface drilling, environmental remediation, groundwater sampling, recycling, and household hazardous waste. In 2012 and 2013, Joseph was a vital component in the design, construction and operation of a new brush recycling facility and two new bulky waste collection facilities.
