Cart Accepted Items

What to put in your recycling cart

Paper:

Staples do not need to be removed

• Advertisement circulars
• Carbonless paper
• Cardboard - cereal boxes (liners removed), beverage cartons, dry goods packaging, corrugated cardboard, paper towel and toilet paper cores.  Large boxes must be broken down or cut to fit in the cart
• Catalogues
• Envelopes - with or without windows
• Junk mail
• Magazines
• Newspapers - all sections
• Office paper - file folders, letterhead, sticky notes, printer paper, calendars and school papers
• Paperback books
• Paper bags
• Phone books

Plastics:

Please rinse. All colors are accepted and labels may be left on containers.

• All plastics labeled 1 to 7 (look for recycling symbol on the bottom)
• Bottles
• Cups
• Jars
• Food trays
• Food tubs
• Bowls

Metals:

Please rinse and labels may be left on the containers.

• Aluminum drink cans
• Aluminum baking tins
• Steel or tin food can and lids
• Empty aerosol cans - remove nozzle

Glass:

Please rinse. All colors are accepted and labels may be left on the container. Remove metal and plastic lids and discard in trash.
