Household Hazardous Waste

The City of San Antonio advises Solid Waste customers to properly dispose of household hazardous waste (HHW), such as oil, paint, pesticides, anti-freeze, batteries, and household cleaners, by taking materials to the HHW Drop-Off Center. The City also provides customers convenient opportunities to dispose of household hazardous waste through an HHW Seasonal Facility and through mobile collection sites located citywide throughout the year (listed below).

Household hazardous waste should not be disposed of in the garbage cart (brown cart), poured on the ground, or down the drain or storm sewers. Disposing of HHW in this manner will pollute streams, lakes, wildlife, and possibly even our drinking water. Dispose of HHW properly by bringing it to one the the facilities listed below. Approximately 80% of all materials collected through the City of San Antonio's HHW programs are recycled.
