Free Landfill Disposal Day

The Solid Waste Management, in partnership with area landfills, offers you the opportunity to get rid of all your unwanted items  and it's FREE to City of San Antonio residential solid waste payers.   
 
  • Resident must bring a picture ID and a copy of their recent CPS energy bill showing payment of City provided services.
  • NO contractor, commercial, or industrial waste will be accepted at this event.

How to Participate

Reuse and Recycle


Consider donating unwanted items to Goodwill, Salvation Army, your local church, or any other local charity. For a list of local organization to donate to, view Alternative Recycling Opportunities.

Bring brush or unwanted bulky item such as mattresses, appliances, sofas, and car tires (limit 6 per household) to one of the locations that accepts the items you wish to get rid of.

Not Accepted  Materials


Hazardous waste, paints, chemical pesticides, motor oil, batteries, solvents, and similar materials will NOT be accepted. Take these materials to the city’s Household Hazardous Waste Facility.
Loading and Delivery of Materials

Bundle your brush separately from your other household trash. Properly load (distribute weight evenly) and cover your load with a tarp or you may be subject to a fee (Tarp Law-City Ordinance #722272). Customers must wear a safety vest and hard hat at the landfill.
