Look West
Breakfast Highlights Development
On March 26, 2010, the Westside Development
Corporation (WDC) and Our Lady of the Lake University
(OLLU) co-hosted the Look West
Breakfast, a new series designed to
highlight development in the Westside. The event,
attended by approximately 100 people, featured
presentations by WDC Executive Director Ray Flores, OLLU
President Dr. Tessa Martinez-Pollack, and Capital One
Bank's Mark Koshnick. District 5 City Councilperson
David Medina also addressed the attendees. Mr. Flores'
presentation included an explanation about the tools
that are available to help redevelop or to bring new
development to the inner city, the WDC's priorities and
accomplishments, the need for collaboration, corridors
of activity, and opportunities for economic growth. Dr.
Martinez-Pollack presented an update on OLLU since the
campus fire that took place almost a year ago. The next
Look West Breakfast will take place in September at St.
Mary's University.

On
February 22, 2010, the
WDC and UHS will hosted
a
public presentation
of the plans to
significantly expand the
UHS-Downtown campus,
formerly known as The
