Every year, shelters around the country see an increase in lost pets around the 4th of July holiday. At San Antonio Animal Care Services, we see a large increase in 311 calls for roaming pets, and crowds of pet parents visiting our shelter to look for their lost pets.
The best way to prepare yourself and your pet for fireworks season is to be proactive and mindful of their feelings during this time. To make it easier, we've put together helpful tips to make this holiday less stressful for you and your pet!
Are you and your pup itching for an adventure together? Rushing rivers, impressive hikes, and amazing views await! There are plenty of opportunities to bond with your pet as you hike a trail or splash into a river right here in Central Texas.
To share the top four hiking grounds near San Antonio, we bring you Crystal, @crystall_pistol – who also happens to be one of our San Antonio Animal Care Officers! When she’s not rescuing pets in SA, she spends her time researching and exploring the many parks San Antonio has to offer.
During the COVID-19 crisis many organizations, including ACS, have had to adjust and explore new methods to continue providing essential services. San Antonio Animal Care Services has recently gone through many changes to continue serving the pets and people in our community – and we are seeking to do even more.
