SAN ANTONIO (June 14, 2019) - The warmer months are typically high season for local shelters and with summer not even officially begun, Animal Care Services is getting crowded. That means the shelter and our rescue partners are in desperate need of fosters and adopters to help the pets in our care. To that end, ACS will be hosting a “Name you Own Price” adoption event for dogs Saturday and Sunday, June 15th-16th.  Would be pet parents can name the adoption fee on all dogs over the age of six months. Monetary donations are gladly accepted and tax deductible in support of the dogs and cats of Animal Care Services. All pets adopted from ACS leave sterilized, vaccinated, de-wormed, licensed and micro-chipped with a basic lifetime registration. Standard Animal Care Services adoption application procedures apply and pets are available on a first come-first served basis. Residents are strongly urged to make an informed decision before getting a new pet in order to find a companion that best fits their family and lifestyle.  Fosters are also urgently needed for a variety of shelter pets; especially mother dogs with their pups who need temporary placement while the babies become adoption ready.
