Lost. Found. Loved. Who will you discover this summer?
New ACS campaign unveiled ahead of nationwide adoption competition

Second verse, same as the first! Animal Care Services has again been named one of the country’s top shelters to compete in the summer long ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. ACS won the nationwide contest’s grand prize in 2012. Now, San Antonio’s municipal shelter is working with local rescue groups and animal agencies to encourage shelter adoptions through a comprehensive community awareness campaign themed “Lost. Found. Loved. Who will you discover this summer?” Key to the initiative are fun, colorful ads and emotionally powerful videos touting the benefits of shelter adoption and responsible pet ownership. The Lost. Found. Loved! community campaign kicks off at Animal Care Services, Sunday, June 1st with “Discover ACS and Find a Friend.” Adoption specials include $40 dog and $20 cat adoptions throughout the adoption “pawty” which runs Noon to 4p.m. ACS is located at 4710 State Highway 151.

The ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge runs June through August and each chosen shelter commits to saving as many lives as they can over the three month contest period. The shelter with the largest live release increase takes home $100 thousand dollars. Animal Care Services is again bringing some Texas sized determination to the contest with special event adoption pricing and fun weekly specials all summer like Two Fur Tuesdays (cats), $5 Feline Fridays and $30 dollar Thursdays (dogs) as well as a host of fun events for would be adopters. ACS is located at 4710 State Highway 151 off Old Highway 90 and all ACS pets are sterilized, vaccinated, de-wormed, licensed and microchipped. Two years ago, ACS beat out 49 other nationally known shelters to become the first municipal agency to ever garner the grand prize by achieving a dramatic increase in live release. That success was built, in large part, on innovative programs like those that saw ACS recently announce a 90% plus feline live release rate over the last several months. May’s placement rate is equally impressive at 82% overall for the month so far. The nationally accepted No Kill rate is 90%.
