As San Antonians gear up for family get togethers and upcoming fireworks displays, they should keep in mind not everyone will be impressed with the holiday celebrations. Pets can become very frightened by all the noise and commotion we take for granted on New Year’s.
With the holidays quickly approaching, many people decide a new puppy or kitten would make the perfect Christmas gift. Animal Care Services does not discourage holiday pet adoptions, but does strongly encourage residents to make an informed decision when adopting a pet at any time of the year.
She was born with only two working legs, but that’s not stopping Roo from making her way into the hearts of staff at Animal Care Services. Roo’s front legs are unusable so this former stray gets around by hopping on her two back paws—a feat she’s become very good at!
Animal Care Services will be hosting an ongoing Meowy Christmas and Happy Howlidays Adoption Party to encourage the continued placement of shelter dogs and cats. Residents are urged to make an informed decision before getting a new pet at any time of the year in order to find a companion that fits with your family and your lifestyle.
