The ongoing pandemic has led the way to changes everywhere in our world – and how we work at San Antonio Animal Care Services is no exception. In the last few months, we’ve shifted how we operate at the shelter to be able to continue to serve our community.
If an emergency were to happen right now, would you be able to keep you and your pets safe?
The thought alone is stressful, sad, and feels so unlikely that we just end up trying not to think of it at all. Although we can never completely prevent fires from happening, we can have peace of mind by being as prepared as possible to keep us and our pets safe in case they do. The key is to keep our pets in mind and be ready to act at any given time.
From July 10th to July 12th, San Antonio Animal Care Services teamed up with the Bissell Pet Foundation to host the Empty the Shelters adoption event! With Bissell’s help, we were able to offer $15 dog adoptions and $5 cat adoptions. Our goal was to find homes for the pets in our care and make more space for the pets coming in after the 4th of July festivities.
Every pet parents’ nightmare is having their beloved pet escape and become lost. On the other hand, many people find lost pets every day and aren’t sure what to do. Although having a collar, ID tags, and a microchip are the best ways to ensure your pet can come back home to you, pets do still get lost.
Whether you’re looking for your lost pet, or have found a roaming pet, we‘ve created a checklist to help you and your fur baby reunite, or help you be the one that reunites a pet and their parent.
