This week's Happy Tail:
Our Animal Care Officers responded to a rescue call that involved a tiny Chihuahua mix who found herself helplessly stuck somewhere in the sewer system. A neighbor even told ACS when he heard her crying he thought she may have been swept in from the previous night’s rain! As precious minutes ticked away, officers searched an underground warren of tight drainage pipes with nothing but flashlights. Finally, an Officer found her alone on a tiny concrete ledge, surprising both her and the puppy who both yelped out loud. Once the puppy was lifted through an opened manhole, she made quick work of a bowl of water and afew treats offered to her by the Good Samaritan who had called for ACS help. Luickily she wasn’t hurt-just hungry and We named her Freckles because of her the spots scattered across her belly. She was adopted with half an hour after arriving at the shelter!
Special thanks to officers Stephanie Chapa #206, Tyler Winckler #219, Adan Perez #193 and Robert Lopez#180
